Another Superb Shower

Last weekend one of my closest friends...Korrie Wilhelm...threw me my second and final baby shower. I got the chance to celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of Baby Menor with some of my dearest friends. It was such fun...being able to share this experience with all of them. It gave me the opportunity to catch up with some friends that I have not seen in awhile and it gave them the chance to see my ever expanding belly! We had good food, drink and of course...yummy cake, designed and baked by Korrie...so talented!

And of course there were more amazing presents for the baby! Everyone was so generous and I received some adorable things. As many of you know, frogs are a major part of our nursery. Well Korrie found the most adorable thing to go with our theme. It is an inflatable frog that can be used as an ottoman, or as a cuddle toy for the baby when he/she is a little older. The neat thing is that the frog looks just like the frogs on the nursery bedding, complete with the gold crown on it's head. I know this is for the baby, but I have been propping my feet up on it almost nightly!

I was fortunate enough to have quite a few of my friends there, two of which are pregnant as well. That is Julie on the left. She is due to have her second baby at the end of November, a few short weeks after me. And Natalie is on the right. Her due date is right after the first of the year. They both looked great and it was fun to be able to share this day with my fellow pregnant ladies!

But overall it was a wonderful shower. Thank you to everyone who came and made the day so special for me. Each one of you is so important to me. Our baby is so lucky to be surrounded by so many generous and loving people! Also, thanks Mom for making your tasty sugar cookies as shower favors once again. They were as just adorable as they were for the first shower and just as yummy!

And most of all, thanks to Korrie! You made this a day I will always remember. Everything you did, from designing the beautiful invitations to making the equally beautiful and delicious cake, made it a baby shower that I will not soon forget!

Here I am with the host...

And finally, a quick update...I am in the middle of my 36th week. I had another visit to the doctor on Tuesday. It was pretty uneventful but things look good. The heartbeat is a steady 156 and I will be going back again in two weeks. After that visit I start making weekly trips to the doctor until this baby decides to make his/her entrance into the world. The clock is really ticking away now...not long to go!

I must add to your Korrie tribute. It is unusual to have a best friend who has known you since birth. Korrie has been your "big sister" and "mentor" for so many milestones in your life. She helped you adjust to college life. She gave you the honor of being the godmother to Hayden. She is your godmother, and now she is helping you become a mother with her encouragement and her advice. Her creativity helped to make your nursery amazing. The shower she hosted was wonderful. You are truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends...but Korrie is at the top of the list.

I am truly honored to be included in so many life steps with Jess. It's true I've know you since birth. We've laughed together, cried together, annoyed each other, and share many milestones. It's hard to imagine life without my little sister who, it suddenly occurred to since you'll always be my "little sis", is not so little any more. (okay Judes, stop correcting my grammar/punctuation ha ha).
So, please little baby Menor, make your entrance when you are ready and don't cause your mom as much grief as your plastic cousin and Godbrother caused me.
I'm so happy for you and Todd!!!
Besos!
